چکیده

Groundwater exploitation requires better understanding of the resource availability and quality/vulnerability. Geophysical techniques, pumping test, hydraulic measurement, borehole logging quality test analysis have been used in Ibulesoro, southwestern Nigeria, to hydrogeological system terms groundwater availability, aquifer delineation, evaluate physico-chemical biological contents. The study utilized multi-criteria evaluation techniques (GWPIV) assess overall potential/vulnerability. geology area comprises granite, migmatite, migmatite gneiss, biotitic gneiss. main water-bearing unit was weathered layer fractured basement, which are usually unconfined aquifer. conductivity formation factor is related by y = 0.239e0.0519x with correlation coefficient 0.0961. average transmissivity 0.52 m/d 5.78 m2/d respectively. parameters viability increases southwardly, just as movement/flow due south. thickness overburden 8.6 m 16.1 respectively, dominant resistivity range 80 – 200 ohm-m. best drilling points (migmatite/gneiss geologic units) where basement underlies most not necessarily exceed 30 - 35 m. depth rock obtained GWPIV varied from 1.12 1.71, an 1.30 suggesting low potential but good for drinking irrigation uses its present state, however highly vulnerability contamination, vadose zone (5.68 avg.), AVI (0.57 LC (0.0818 mhos avg.) all point protective capability. water types mixed Ca-Mg-Cl. mechanism controlling falls zone, indicates contribution soil/rock-water interaction, precipitation, evaporation; while carbonic weathering more active than silicate process.

Bacteriological Evaluation Of Groundwater In Ekiti- State, Southwestern Nigeria

Drinking contaminated groundwater can have serious health effects. Bacterial assessment of groundwater in Ekiti State was carried out to determine its potability and source(s) of pollutants. Consequently, 73 groundwater samples were collected for bacterial analysis and NO3 determination. At each location, depth of each well and depth to water table were measured using dipmeter. Temperature (°C)...

Prediction of Groundwater Dynamics for Sustainable Water Resource Management in Bogra District, Northwest Bangladesh

The green revolution in the northwest region of Bangladesh over the past three decades has based on groundwater irrigation. For sustainable agricultural accretion, groundwater dynamics play a vital role in this region. In this study, the groundwater level dynamics have been analyzed with a model named “MAKESENS” and with geographical information systems (GIS). The study indicates that, in most ...
